आज rpsc meme की blog post में RAS 2013 में 12वी वरीयता प्राप्त shyama rathore जी की success story जिन्होंने  प्रथम प्रयास में ras में सफलता प्राप्त की।

Q.1- Tell us something about yourself,your family ,when & why did you enter in this field of competitive examination?

Ans.-
I hail from Nawalgarh (jhunjhanu)where my family is settled and did my schooling from here .My father is a retired college lecturer and my mother is a home maker I have three elder sisters in my family with whom I share a strong bond. I completed my BTech from Government Engineering College Bikaner in 2012 and got placed in TCS but that was something I never wanted to be and so with immense support of my family, I decided to drop that and chase the DREAM I had always seen to be a Civil Servant and a proud daughter.

Q.2-Typical day in your study life ?

Ans.- Since I was from non Humanities background, I started my preparation by joining spring Board Academy which continued to be the essential part of my journey.
So my day usually consisted of attending classes ,revising notes ,referring to standard texts, reading the Hindu in the starting later on when classes were over I joined a library to maintain consistency and kept attending mock tests and  revision classes along with this I spend time for entertainment with family and maintained to have a proper sleep.

Q.3-People know what books and syllabus points are to be prepared. But most of them lack consistency in their preparation. So, how do you keep study momentum going on? How do you fight against the mood swings and distractions?

Ans.- Consistency is a must for this exam and seeing the nature of exam and the time consumed mood swings and destractions were very common I remember many times when I went hopeless and helpless but I am grateful to God for the family which always backed me & showed confidence in me(including my fiancee-digvijay singh).
Besides family Shri Dilip mahecha sir proved to be a Savior who always believed in my calibre and inspired to continue the struggle.
   Watching movies and spending time thinking as to why I took up this exam kept me going again.



Q.4- Tips for prelims?

Ans.- Prelims is a test of objectivity and can be cracked easily with proper coverage and understanding of syllabus.
* emphasising  on fundamental subjects, Rajasthan GK, current issues and economic survey *practicing last year solved paper provides a better Insight of one's preparation and is unavoidable.

Q.5- Tips for mains?

Ans.- Where prelims is a test of knowledge mains require knowledge along with better writing skills and presentation.
 *Regular writing practice and attending test series help acquire this skill as well as teaches time management when completing the paper is a challenge.
 *Along with that one has to identify his her strength in terms of paper 1, 2, 3  & 4
* strength needs to be exploited better to fetch excellent marks and weakness be removed to avoid any uncertainty.

Q.6- Format for answers- bullet or paragraph?

Ans.- I wrote mostly in Bullet format for 2 markers and 5 markers.
For long answer I wrote in paragraph and included Bullet points as and where needed.

Q.7-Did you follow the introduction,body ,conclusion format?

Ans.-Yes,i followed the introduction,body,conclusion format for long answers basically.

Q.8-Approach in exam.?

Ans.- My approach was to attempt questions that I knew followed by those about which I was not that sure and left those I was completely unaware of.
* I also plan to fetch good marks in 2nd and 4th paper (where I  partially succeeded).
* And to complete the paper timely.

Q.9-How did you prepare for RAS Interview ?

Ans.- For interview I attended some classes at my Institute where the basic do's and don'ts were taught.
I thoroughly prepared my biodata, locality, school college, B tech subjects ,current issues and the questions shared in Groups( those asked in ongoing interview then).
Mostly questions striked from the above ,I attended various mocks at my Institute for building up confidence which helped a great deal.

Q10.-If you were not selected, what was your career backup plan?

Ans.- I never thought of a backup plan, this was the exam I wanted to give my all and so would have continued till the last attempt .
Though I got selected as executive officer( dlb) a month before the result came.

Q.13-Through this struggle and success, what have your learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the new aspirants?

Ans.- This journey is a lesson of life itself .It has molded me from a not so serious student to a better citizen ,made me away aware of my own strengths and weaknesses .I learnt that there is no greater virtue then hard work and persistence.
 For true aspirants I would first say that no one can beat you other than you yourself, so just keep faith in yourself ,give your honest hundred percent and nothing can fail you ."Everything in life has a beautiful ending if it is not beautiful it's not the ending".
